For businesses comparing listing management quotes

Google Business Profile management cost: the published bands, and what the fee buys.

The listing itself is free, so every dollar quoted is somebody doing the work on it. Published management runs from about a hundred and fifty a month per location.

See them all on Google

Australian agencies publish listing management between a hundred and fifty and twelve hundred dollars a month for one location, and three hundred to fifteen hundred to set one up.

Google charges nothing for the listing, so the whole fee is labour.

01

What is published, per location

Setup runs from about three hundred to fifteen hundred dollars once, and ongoing management from a hundred and fifty to twelve hundred a month, priced again for every extra location.

These come from the agencies that publish prices. Most quote on request, so a single number is hard to place without them.

The published bands

  • $300 to $1,500 once.

Claiming, verifying, categories, services, hours, description and the first photographs.
  • $150 to $1,200 a month.

Posts, photographs, review replies, questions answered and a monthly report.
  • From $750 plus GST a month.

One published Australian rate for a single location, with reviews and posts included.
  • $100 to $400 a month extra.

What each additional location adds, because each one is managed separately.

02

What the monthly fee buys

Four things: the listing kept accurate, posts and photographs added, reviews asked for and answered, and questions answered before somebody else answers them.

A quote that cannot be split into those four is hard to judge against another one.

The four parts

  • Accuracy.

Categories, services, hours and service area, which decide what the listing shows up for at all.
  • Posts and photographs.

The part that keeps a listing looking open for business.
  • Reviews.

Asking for them and replying to them, which review work covers in more detail.
  • Questions.

Anybody can answer a question on a listing, including a competitor, until the business does it first.

03

When a listing needs nobody

A single-location business in a quiet category can run its own listing in about twenty minutes a month, and plenty do it well.

The fee buys back time and consistency. Where neither is short, the money is better spent elsewhere.

Where a fee is hard to justify, and where it is not

  • One location, quiet category.

Set it up once, keep the hours right, ask for reviews. That is most of it.
  • A contested category.

Trades and clinics in a city are fought over weekly, and the listing decays without attention.
  • Several locations.

Each one is a separate listing with its own reviews, which is where the hours go.
  • A suspended listing.

That is repair work rather than management, and getting it back is its own job.

Common questions

How much does Google Business Profile management cost?

Published Australian rates run from about a hundred and fifty to twelve hundred dollars a month for one location, with setup a separate three hundred to fifteen hundred.

Does Google charge for the listing?

No. The listing is free and always has been, so any fee quoted is for somebody doing the work on it.

Why is a second location priced again?

Each location is a separate listing with its own categories, photographs, questions and reviews, so the work repeats in full.

Can a business owner manage it instead?

Yes. A single location in a quiet category takes about twenty minutes a month once the categories and services are set up correctly.

What does it cost?

One monthly fee covering everything, month to month, no lock-in. The number depends on the business and gets given on the call.
