Web design
Does website design affect SEO?
Yes, in practical ways.
Tell us about your business and what you need.

The short answer
In short.
Google needs to be able to read your pages, understand what each one is about and see that it works well for people, especially on a phone. A design that hides the words in images, puts every service on one page, loads slowly or is hard to use on a phone makes that harder. Good design gives each service a clear page, loads quickly and makes it easy to get in touch.

A page for each service
If all your services sit on one page, there is no single page for Google to show for each search. A clear page per service, in plain words, helps Google and the customer.
Words Google can read
Text built into images, or hidden behind tabs nobody opens, is harder to use. Put what matters in plain text on the page.
Phone first
Most local searches happen on phones. Readable text, clear buttons and a form that is comfortable on a small screen matter for customers and for search.
Speed and stability
Google measures loading speed, responsiveness and whether the page jumps around as it loads, and calls these Core Web Vitals. Large images and heavy add-ons are common causes of slow pages.
Redesigns can help or hurt
Changing page addresses without sending the old ones somewhere useful can lose visitors and search positions. Any redesign should map old addresses to new ones.
What design does not replace
A well designed site still needs a complete Google Business Profile, useful content and genuine reviews to be found locally. Design makes those work harder; it does not stand in for them.

Common questions
Questions people ask.
Does a new website improve rankings by itself?
Not on its own. A clear, fast site helps, but local rankings also depend on your Google Business Profile, your content and genuine reviews.
Can a redesign hurt rankings?
It can, if page addresses change without redirects. Any redesign should map old addresses to new ones before launch.
